He's Bringing Preschool Back....

Today, my little man started preschool.

It is the same preschool Tatum attended so he has the same teacher. As you know with Beckett's toileting I was a little apprehensive about how today would go.

Andrew and I dropped him off together. I met Andrew there and walked Beckett up the sidewalk and let him open the door. Miss Phyllis met us at the door and greeted Beckett with his "preschool animal" ( a monkey) and took a picture of of all of us together. It was so nice as I was so emotionally disconnected I didn't get many pictures of him. Andrew did get one...which I will try to get off of FB and put on here. I did get a few pictures of his classroom.

It was so fun seeing him check out his new school. I know he was anxious about it as he told us yesterday. But when we got there it was like he knew exactly what he was doing. He found his desk, the books, he computer, etc. I did get some picture of those:)

I was so sure that today was not going to go well. I barely left my desk today just in case the teacher was going to call. She did, but only to tell me he was going great.  He did have some trouble at nap time but that didn't surprise me since he usually goes down at 230 and he was in bed by 130 today. She told me it took some time for him to adjust to that type of nap setting and she woke him around 330 today. He finally got adjusted to sleep around 230 so he got an hour nap.

I did pick him up from preschool too so that I could talk to Phyllis to make sure all my questions were answered. Did he do OK with his pull-up at nap-time? Did he nap? Did he eat his lunch? What about his snack? Did he make it to the potty on time? But you know what? Phyllis calmed my nerves. She told me he did really well. He colored, and followed instructions, and made friends and took his nap, and ate his lunch. He scissored and cut (with his left hand) and played on the swing-set. He had a great first day! I couldn't ask for anything more.

Congrats Beckett. You have survived your first day. You were a big boy and mommy and daddy are soooo proud of you!

I am SO glad that he had a great day and that there were no tears (from him!). What a great year this is going to be for him. I just love that little guy :)
