First Week Home

Dear Finley,

My how you have changed our lives forever. You are such a blessing. You are such a good baby and a champion eater. You seem to have placed yourself on a schedule to eat about every 3 hours during the day except for when you are ready to eat and you nurse every 1.5 hours.  We now know your hunger cry--it is loud and screechy.

The first night at home was rough. Mommy was so spoiled at the hospital that I forgot that I have to do things for myself now. You slept in the hospital and the first night home, you did not. You loved to snuggle with your daddy and me. You were having no part of sleeping in the bassinet. You only want to be in our arms. We co-slept with you for the first few days.

You had so many visitors that first few days. I am not even sure who all came--it was such a blur. After your first doctors appointment you weighed in at 6 lbs 12 oz. You lost a little bit more weight but the doctors weren't concerned. You were still eating well!

You love riding in the car. Daddy stayed home with us this week to take care of us. We went to Costco to get some groceries and you slept the entire time. We couldn't believe it. You didn't like church too much so I just held you the entire service while walking about the children's nursery. No one bothered us.

The kids are so taken by you. They want so badly to hold you and kiss you and take care of you. Beckett loves to kiss you everywhere--there are no limits with that kid :)  Tatum loves to hold you and check on you every single chance she gets. I am sure this will wear off very quickly.

Yes, Finley, you have changed our lives. BUT, we wouldn't change anything about you! To us, you are perfect and a blessing to our family. You have completed us and we couldn't be happier.  Your first week home was crazy for all of us but we are starting to figure things out. We love you, our sweet daughter. Thank you for joining our family. Thank you God, for giving us this sweet blessing!

What sweet words for your sweet girl! Why is it that they sleep in hospital and then are wide awake as soon as they get home :)
