Beckett-isms

While in the car last night driving home from the gym, Beckett was none to happy with either of us because we didn't let him watch a movie. He started throwing out all sorts of comments that could only come from my funny little man.

Here's the rundown:

*You (points at me) do not make me (points at him) happy.
*Do you understand my words? (His take on "Do you understand me?)
*Can you play with me? (Spoken from sunup to sundown)
*That's not fair to me.  (When he doesn't get his way--stomps foot, crosses arms over chest).
*I'm sorry.I didn't know (Why stop at I'm sorry...he'll throw the other on in for good measure).
*I hear ya.
*I don't like ____. (Fill in blanks with something, anything, will a really whiny voice)
*What about now?
*That doesn't make me happy.
* What? You gotta be kidding me? (When he doesn't get his way).
* I gotta tell you a question. (This is used generally when he is in bed and keeps coming downstairs).
* Can you tell her? (When his feelings get hurt by sissy or neighbors..he will come up to tell and I will tell him to tell them to be nice--he comes back with Can you tell her).
* I broke the wind

Also, for a three year old (nearly four)...the following have also come out of his mouth

* You ruined my life (yes, in his three short years, I have ruined his life).
*  I don't like you anymore.
* You don't love me (wherever this stems from? We sing the "I love you" song all the time and I am constantly telling him.
* Your mean. (He gets this from big sissy).
* I like your _____. (Insert...this weekend it was daddy's haircut, today it was Ms. Phyllis decorations, on Thanksgiving it was papa's turkey).

Things you will hear Beckett say on a daily basis.

* Will you play with me? ( You could also be playing with him a this time and he will still say it).
* Mom, can I watch Thomas on your computer?
* Dad, can I have the touch?
* Mom, when you are done feeding her, can you put her in the bouncer?
* Mom, are you done feeding her yet?

I can only guess a majority of these -isms have come from Finley being born and he is not getting the full attention he is used to getting. Some of them, from preschool and daycare, and some of them from big sissy. At least he hasn't pulled the eye rolling (Tatum) yet. HA!

Lord knows we love him though. He brightens our day...gives us unsolicited hugs and kisses and "I love you"'s. He is a mama's boy and that is OK with me. He is and will be my only son--so that tickles me pink!  I am sure I will have to write a new post in the next few years where all of these will change, just ever so slightly , but the context will remain the same--as will this part about our unconditional love for him. Only a son can push your buttons and melt your heart and make you laugh all in one sentence!

We love you bubba!
