Finley-two months
My how time flies.
Finley, you are two months old and how different some things are and how much some things stay the same.
You are still a very fussy baby. I got really worried there for a bit because I could tell you were losing some weight. I was right! I took you into Riverside to get a weight check and you were down almost half a pound from the week before. Boy! That threw me. I decided to meet with a lactation consultant as well as go to a le leche league meeting. Lots of help. I started in on the Fenugreek and pumping after each time you ate. This was starting to annoy everyone, including you! I took you in for a follow up appointment the following week (so two weeks from the last weigh in) and you were up to 9 lbs. I was so happy. After talking with the doctor we also found out that you have reflux so you are now on medication to help you through that.
At your two month appointment you weighed in at a healthy 10 lbs even (24th percentile) and went up to 22 3/4 inches (61 percentile). I'm so happy for your growth. You are evening out in length--kinda tying in with how Tatum grew over the years.
What a different baby you are starting to become though! The medication seems to be helping some. You are still fussy but not nearly as bad and the fussy is more of an intolerant cry and not a painful please help me squeal. Your cries were breaking our hearts (and ears).
You are much more alert and awake these days. You continue to gain muscle control on your neck so we are allowing the kids to hold you a little more. Around 7 weeks you started smiling and it started with me. You just melted my heart all to pieces. Around week 8 you started in with your sister and daddy and this week, you smiled at Beckett. You would have thought you made his wish come true. He was so excited. You have been a bit more tolerant of daddy. You don't really like to be held by too many other people.
I went back to work this week for a day and you stayed with Miss Beth. We spent a whole 9 hours apart. You went on a feeding strike and only ate 1 ounce while you were with her. You decided you would rather sleep and eat. You did scream and cry and I kinda expected that. Other than that, you were an angel for her. I am so proud.
You stared coo'ing and aweing. Tatum feels like she is teaching you all about your vowel sounds. She likes pretending you are her student. You can recognize my voice and daddy's now. You are a cuddler. You love to shape your body into mine to cuddle. You love to be swaddled to take a nap and still sleep in your car seat.
You don't like to be left alone too often so we carry you all over the place. Daddy likes to carry you like a football. Mommy just carries you around and swishes in your ear:)

I need to get over there and see her ASAP!!! I'm SO glad to hear that the medicine is working for her and her fussiness has decreased :) Now I wish I was a baby so I could celebrate putting ON pounds...lol.
