Pumpkins and Apples

We had again, waited too long to pick apples, so we decided to combine our trip into one collaborative "picking'" trip. We decided to do what seems like all my other mommy friends do and went to Lynds Fruit Farm.

It was a gorgeous day. The baby was doing well and was sleepy so it seemed the perfect time to head out. We drove out about 15 minutes from our home to one of the largest fruit farms in the county. It was jammin! Now, granted, I had never been here, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I can however, tell you, that why I thought it was pretty organized...I was not impressed. We generally go apple picking at Legend Hills which is a smaller orchard and very quiet. There are all the same varieties of apples just in a smaller orchard scale. Needless to say, I will try to better organized next year to get out to the apple orchard earlier (September). Plus, I felt Tatum just wasn't into it this year..and neither was Andrew. Tatum, I am sure was due to her tooth bothering her, and Andrew, was probably due to lack of sleep. But I want to try to treasure these moments now, because, I fear in about 5 years, it will all be over.

So after all the excitement of picking apples, we walked across the orchard and let the kids pick out their perfect pumpkins. We stressed the perfection part as they are just so much easier to carve. I'm not sure if the perfect pumpkin is out there but the kids found theirs. We got them home and daddy and I helped carve them out. Tatum free styled hers and bubba chose out of a book , a which, for daddy to get started on.

I generally roast pumpkin seeds but with Finley as fussy as she has been. I get about 30 minutes of time between feedings to do anything.

Until next time...
